Autotool 2000 CPK wins Ergonomics Award
Fully automated bundling system receives accolade for outstanding product development
HellermannTyton is the proud winner of the 2020 Ergonomics Award for its Autotool 2000 CPK fully automatic bundling system.
An independent jury at the German Ergonomics Competence Network – ECN (Ergonomie-Kompetenz-Netzwerk e.V. ) awarded the tool the highest commendation in the category "Handheld Tools".
The jury was especially impressed by the reduction in physical effort for operators delivered by the system’s load-balancing suspension hanger. This assistance is particularly effective in high volume, repetitive cable tie applications.
The award jury also highlighted the positive ergonomic benefit of functions such as "Defined loop diameter", "Tape overhang", "Tension-free cutting", "Continuous operation" and an "AND link" (triggering of the tool is only possible if signal is given by two different sensors).
These features ensure that cable tie application processes are optimised whilst ensuring that the risk of repetitive strain on operators is significantly reduced.
The Ergonomics Competence Network promotes the exchange of ergonomics know-how among its members and sees itself as a bridge between science and practice.
The detailed jury statement is available here (in German).
Overview of benefits:
- Fast cycle times: 0.8 - 1.2 seconds per setting up to 20 mm diameter (depending on quality and force)
- Includes “HT Data Management" software for complete documentation and individual settings
- Processing of bandoleers of 50 cable ties or reels of 3500 cable ties
- Ideal for applications with high quality requirements, e.g. large-scale series production
- Expandable with suitable accessories: for stationary or flexible use, integration in fully automated production lines possible
